Rush's Alex Lifeson continues to show his support in the fight against kidney disease in his homeland. The rocker has taped an ad for the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
In the spot he says many people with kidney disease aren't aware they have the condition. He also encourages undergoing kidney function tests on a routine basis - especially for those at higher risk of developing the disease.
The issue is one that's personal to Alex. He lost his father to kidney disease just over a decade ago.
Lifeson's also not new to the Kidney Foundation of Canada. In 2011 he donated an acrylic painting to an auction for the organization that brought in $7,000, accounting for more than a quarter of the total funds raised at the event.
