Paul McCartney is expected to be back in action soon.

A statement on the former Beatle's website Thursday said McCartney "received successful medical treatment at a hospital in Tokyo" to combat a virus, and will "make a complete recovery."

It also notes that McCartney "has been ordered to take a few days rest," and adds that the rock legend has been "extremely moved" by all the well-wishes he's received from fans throughout the world.

McCartney arrived in Tokyo last Thursday for a series of shows in Japan, but became ill on Friday.  His condition forced him to postpone his concerts in Tokyo, Osaka, and Seoul -- where he was slated to make his South Korean performance debut on May 28th.

McCartney is still expected to launch the U.S. portion of his "Out There" tour as scheduled in Lubbock, Texas on June 14th.
