All-American Rejects singer Tyson Ritter will soon be taking on the role of a rock icon.
"The Hollywood Reporter" says the frontman has been cast as Gregg Allman in the upcoming Allman Brothers biopic My Cross to Bear.
Wyatt Russell, son of Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, is set to play the other half of the Allman duo, legendary guitarist Duane Allman.
Both Ritter and Russell will reportedly be doing some of their own singing and playing throughout the film, which is based on Gregg Allman's memoir.
Director and co-writer Randall Miller calls Ritter an "extraordinary musician and performer," but now he says the world will know what an amazing actor he is as well.
Production on My Cross to Bear is expected to start in February.
